R Color Code is a useful tool that helps you decipher the color codes of fixed resistors. The markings on the resistor begin with the band closest to one end. The widest band is always the last one. The code encodes the resistance in ohms, indicated by two or three bands, the multiplier, the tolerance in percent, and in some cases, the temperature coefficient. The temperature coefficient is the last wider band in the six-band code, and is given in parts per million per Kelvin.
